Thermal imaging refers to the process of converting infrared (IR) radiation into visible images that depict the spatial distribution of temperature differences in a scene viewed by thermal cameras. Thermal cameras is comprised of a sensitive heat sensor that can pick up minute differences in temperature and map out images based on the differences and inflexions of the temperature measurements of an object. The image produced is known as a thermogram and is analysed through a process called thermography.
